This is one extremely unique buckle- I believe it to be carved but i guess it is possible that it could be cast. The detail is incredible as the photos show. I assume it to be a clipper ship and i surely cant say what the material is, although it does seem to be some kind of stone. The metal appears to be silver plated brass. It measures 3 7/8' by 2 5/8"-all i can say is it is a real beauty and i or anybody i have shown ito hasnt seen anything like it.please email if you want more info or pics. $95
